FACILITIES
Allen University rents its college facilities and grounds to individuals and organizations on a space-available basis. Facilities and grounds may be made available for educational, cultural, and recreational purposes. In particular, the University rents its on-campus assets to include the Chappelle Auditorium, the John Hurst Gymnasium, the stage room (located inside the gymnasium), the Mattie Scott Conference Room, the J. S. Flipper Library, classrooms, and other conference rooms as well as areas on the campus grounds. Depending on the nature of the event, a certificate of insurance may be required. Additional facility amenities include set-up, clean-up, security, and advanced sound engineer services, etc., and are billed separately from the services listed below. Once an event is approved, these other services can be determined.
Allen University reserves the right to refuse rental to any individual or organization whose activity or event interferes with or is outside of the scope of the mission of the University and its instructional programs. In addition, the university retains the right to cancel, postpone, or alter any event deemed necessary.
All requests for use of facilities and grounds must be approved by an authorized University official. Transactions for such use must be cleared through the University Business Office. A rental fee to use facilities will be paid to the University according to the External Facility Cost Rates table. A damage deposit may also be required. If food or alcoholic beverages are to be dispensed, the user shall be required to secure all required permits for such dispensing. Alcoholic beverages may not be served at events where students and/or minors are present.
