The questions students ask most.
How do I check my grades or schedule?
Log in to MyAllen. Midterm and final grades are posted there after faculty submit them.
What if I register late?
Late registration fees apply after classes begin: $5 the first day, $10 the second, and $30 the third. Register early to avoid them.
Should I drop or withdraw from a class?
Talk with your advisor and Financial Aid first, since dropping below full-time can affect your aid. Deadlines are on the academic calendar.
How do I get a transcript?
Order online through Scriborder. Official transcripts are $15, unofficial are $5, plus a $4 convenience fee. See how to order.
Something in my room is broken. Who do I tell?
Submit a work order to the Physical Plant, and let your hall staff know.
Can my parents see my grades?
If you’re 18 or older, your records are protected by FERPA and are not released to parents without your written consent. The Registrar can explain how to give consent.
Where do I report harassment or discrimination?
Contact the Title IX Coordinator. For immediate danger, call 911 or Campus Police.
I don’t know who to ask.

First to go. Not alone.
If neither of your parents or guardians finished a four-year degree, you’re a first-generation college student, even if a brother or sister went to college. Being first takes courage. It also means some parts of college may be new to everyone at home. That’s what this page is for.
What first-gen students often wish they’d known
- Office hours are for everyone, not just students who are struggling.
- It’s OK to ask “What does that mean?” Professors and staff expect it.
- Ask Financial Aid before a deadline, not after.
- Your advisor helps you plan every semester. Meet early and often.
- Want your family involved? Ask the Registrar about FERPA consent, and share this page with them.
