Acadeum Course Sharing

Need a course Allen isn’t offering this term?

Through the Acadeum course-sharing network, eligible students can take approved online courses from partner colleges. The credit and grade post to your Allen transcript with an “AC” section, like ENG 101 AC.

Each course is approved by the Department Chair, Dean, and Registrar. Acadeum courses aren’t transient or transfer courses, so there’s no separate application to another school.

Privacy & FERPA

Your records. Your privacy.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. Allen University generally may not release information from your records without your written consent, with limited exceptions such as university officials with a legitimate educational interest or health and safety emergencies.

For students

The rights are yours

Once you turn 18 or enroll at a college or university, FERPA rights belong to you, not your parents. Your consent is generally required before your records are shared with anyone else.

For parents, families & spouses

How to stay informed

Parents and spouses do not automatically have access to a student’s education records. The easiest way to stay informed is for your student to share information with you directly or provide written consent through the Registrar’s Office.
