(Columbia, S.C.) – Allen University will host its annual Founders’ Day Convocation on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 10:30 a.m. in Chappelle Hall Auditorium. Bishop Samuel L. Green, Sr., Allen University Board of Trustees chairman, will deliver the convocation’s keynote address.
Bishop Green is currently the 125th Bishop of the Seventh Episcopal District. Upon taking the helm of the 7th District, Bishop Green became Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Allen University. He brought a vision and understanding of higher education governance that lit the spark of resurgence at Allen. The University reaffirmed its accreditation, brought stability to its finances, returned football, launched a marching band, moved from a Level II to a Level III university to offer master's degrees, and launched the fully-accredited Dickerson-Green (Graduate) Theological Seminary.
