Columbia, SC (December 16, 2025) – Allen University is pleased to welcome Dr. Stanley Jerome Pritchett, Sr., as Interim President of the institution. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Pritchett brings more than five decades of distinguished service in education, marked by a steadfast commitment to transformative leadership and institutional excellence.
Dr. Pritchett began his career as an educator, coach, and athletics director at Booker T. Washington High School, where he served for fifteen years. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Albany State University; a Master of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Georgia State University; an Education Specialist degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Georgia State University; and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Clark Atlanta University.
Among his many recognitions, Dr. Pritchett has been designated an Outstanding Georgia Citizen and was honored by Education Leadership Georgia as one of the state’s preeminent educational leaders.
His distinguished career prepared him to accept the presidency of Morris Brown College during a critical period marked by accreditation and financial challenges. His strategic vision centered on restoring the institution’s accreditation and reestablishing its reputation as a premier institution of higher learning.
Dr. Pritchett is an active participant in numerous professional and community organizations. He serves as Chairman Pro Tempore of the Steward Board at Big Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church and is a lifetime member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he has served on the Grand Board of Directors and as Province Polemarch. His public service includes facilitating a Habitat for Humanity program through Big Bethel and leading efforts to build the first Habitat for Humanity home in partnership with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
